Join our Guided Tour at the Ars Electronica Festival 2026! 

Experience one of Europe’s most inspiring festivals for art, technology, and society! Join us for an exclusive English-language guided tour through one of the central festival locations of the Ars Electronica Festival 2026 in Linz.

Together, we’ll explore the Festival Walk in the OK Quarter, where internationally renowned artists present thought-provoking installations and interactive artworks. Discover how art, science, and technology come together to inspire new perspectives and spark conversations about our shared future. Your guide will introduce you to selected highlights of the festival, providing fascinating background stories and insights into the artworks and the festival’s vision.

Learning the German language is just the first step in understanding the Upper Austrians. Next to intercultural differences, the Upper Austrian dialect is not easy to understand for Internationals. Learn the basics: important phrases, grammar as well as typical expressions. Speak like a local!

Step Back in Time: A Family Day Trip to Schärding! 

Join us on Saturday, 17 October, for a memorable day in the picturesque town of Schärding! Discover its medieval history, explore the colourful grounds of the former State Garden Show and enjoy a relaxed day with activities for the whole family.

Two professional tour guides will accompany us throughout the day and provide both tours in English.

Programme: 

  • 11:30 a.m. – Meet-up at Tummelplatz
    We will meet at the Tummelplatz in Schärding and divide into two groups if necessary.

  • 11:30 a.m. – Medieval Guided Tour 
    Follow in the footsteps of the Middle Ages through Schärding’s charming Baroque old town. Our guides, dressed in medieval costumes, will lead us to some of the town’s most beautiful spots and bring its fascinating history to life.

  • 1:00 p.m. – Lunch at Stadtwirt Kapsreiter
    Time for a relaxed lunch together. Please note that everyone covers their own food and drinks. You will get the menu on time, since we have to do a pre-order. 

  • 2:30 p.m. – Guided Tour of the State Garden Show Grounds
    Our guides will pick us up at Stadtwirt Kapsreiter for a colourful stroll through the former State Garden Show grounds. We will explore the Orangerie Park, play areas and welcoming social spaces—a lovely experience for adults and children alike.

  • 3:30 p.m. – Coffee and Strudel at Café Lachinger
    We will end our day together with coffee and delicious strudel. The costs will be covered by Come2Upper Austria.

The tours will take place in all weather conditions. Please wear suitable clothing and comfortable footwear.

Neuer Online-Konversationskurs „Sprechen“ auf Sprachportal.at

In der neuen 90-minütigen Online-Kursreihe „Sprechen“ verbessern Deutschlernende gezielt ihre mündliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit. Die Einheiten laden zum Erzählen, Austauschen und freien Sprechen ein – mit alltagsnahen Themen, die zum Erzählen einladen: Von Hobbys und Freizeit über Ernährung und Gesundheit bis hin zu Ehrenamt und Freiwilligenarbeit. Die Konversationskurse werden auf den Sprachniveaus A1 bis B2 angeboten.

German knowledge is a good base for social integration and creating friendships in Upper Austria. Take the opportunity to practice your German skills. Courses take place in the evening after normal working hours in a small group and in a calm atmosphere appropriate for studying. In addition you will get the chance to meet other people living in your area.
